Week 22

Notes

Moves this week - Mar 20

Flutter Wheel
Reverse Flutter Wheel
Sweep 1/4

Flutter Wheel
Done from Facing Couples. The Rght Dand Hancers (usually the Ladies) go in to the center and turn by the right forearm. As they get closer to the opposite dancer, they reach out with the free (left) hand and, taking the right hand of the opposite dancer, each continues on around to the original right hand dancer's starting position, releasing arms in the center and turning as a couple to face the center.

In essence, the Girls "push" the Boys ahead of them, bringing them back home with them. Of course to be smooth, the Boys need to anticipate and actually "Lead" the Girls around the circle rather than being "pushed". (It's a bit like a relay race where you start moving ahead of the one caarrying the baton to get up to speed before taking the baton.)

Reverse Flutter Wheel
Essentially the same as Flutter Wheel except the Left Hand Dancers (usually the Boys) go in with the Left forearm to bring ("push") the opposite lady back home with them.

Sweeep A Quarter
Any move that is essentially circular (like Flutter Wheel and Reverse Flutter Wheel) can be turned 1/4 more (ie, "Sweep 1/4" more) past where the move would normally end.
