Notes
Limestone dancers had their clothing sale this night. Lots of absolutely great bargains.
Welcome to new dancer, Heather -- who not only survived her first night, but now has to make room in her closet for the boat-load of clothes she bought :-).
Moves this week - Nov 14
Square Thru
1 (2,3,4 ...)
Start: Facing Couples
Timing: depends on number of hands to go: 1 to perhaps 6.
Typically:
- Square Thru 1 is a gimmick
- Square Thru 2, 3, or 4 are most common
It's like doing a Right and Left Grand
with 4 people but with sharp 90-degree turns before the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc hands.
Everyone starts with their right hand and pulls by with the person in front
of them. At each stage you end up with a person beside you (who is a temporary
partner until the last hand - at which time the person beside you becomes your "current" partner,
ready for the next move).
To go to the next stage, you face the person
beside you and pull by with the other hand, alternating hands as you go.
Square Thru 1
- pull straight by with the Right Hand
Square Thru 2
- pull by with the Right Hand (RH)
- face person beside you; pull by with the LH
Square Thru 3
- pull by with the Right Hand (RH)
- face person beside you; pull by with the LH
- face person beside you; pull by with the RH
Square Thru 4
- pull by with the Right Hand (RH)
- face person beside you; pull by with the LH
- face person beside you; pull by with the RH
- face person beside you; pull by with the LH
NOTE: there are NO turns any time you are pulling by with the
LAST hand.
Note that Square Thru without giving a number is the same as Square Thru 4.
